Vragen aan Commissie over de onderdrukking van LHBTI in Egypte - Hoofdinhoud

Egypt is experiencing a wave of repression against LGBTI people. Last week 33 Egyptian citizens were arrested at a public bath accused of “libertinism” and practising “immoral and indecent acts” amongst men. Last month, 8 Egyptian men were condemned to a 3 year prison sentence for simulating a gay wedding. Numerous NGOs are warning about Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s Government use of social media to crackdown on the homosexual community.
Faced with these facts, I ask Vice-President/High Representative:
-
-What actions does the VP/HR pretend to develop to defend equal rights for LGBTI in Egypt and demand a cease in attacks towards this community?
-
-Is the VP/HR going to work to guarantee Asylum Right in the EU to citizens persecuted for their sexual orientation in third countries as EU regulation states and as the CJEU has expressed?
-
-Is the European External Action Service facilitating the European Asylum Support Office and Member States with the information gathered by EU delegations on the situation of LGBTI people in third countries?
