FET Open launches 14 Grant Agreements - Hoofdinhoud
The results of the second H2020 FET Open call evaluations, for proposals submitted before the cut-off deadline of 30 March 2015, are out. They were announced to the proposal coordinators on 10 August, via the Research Participant Portal. FET Open supports early-stage research on any idea for a new technology in no pre-defined themes.
Out of the 669 proposals submitted to the Research and Innovation Actions (RIA), 11 projects have been selected to enter the Grant Agreement preparation phase. The Coordination and Support Action (CSA) will have three projects entering the next phase, out of 21 proposals submitted.
All Grant Agreements are expected to be signed by the end of November 2015.
The number of submitted proposals (669) increased slightly compared to the previous cut-off date (643). But this time the indicative funding was 50% less (€40 million), raising the competition significantly. As a result, only 1.6% of the submitted RIA proposals and 14% of CSA proposals could be selected.
"The quality of the top-ranking proposals was very impressive, but unfortunately many excellent project ideas could not be selected for funding”, said Timo Hallantie the Head of Unit in the Research Executive Agency (REA) responsible for the management of FET Open actions.
