For most people around Europe it’s time to start thinking of holidays, if you’re not already away. In my mind there is no real Summer this year (just look at the sky!). But, seriously, there are so many things as stake that it’s important the EU keeps working throughout the holiday period. I will be taking some short breaks of course, but with this thought in mind, I am going to stay active on social media throughout August. You can expect less communication, but I will still be there somewhere!

One thing that I’ll be doing - to emphasise both the need to keep working and the need for new thinking - is to turn over my blog to my “Young Advisers“. So each week, starting on Monday 30 July, you will have the chance to read about what they are thinking, or a project they are working on, or what they would do if they had my position all year round.

I hope you enjoy that change of thinking here, and I hope you do get to take some special time with your family and friends.
